Fannie Mae | CXD Web Design

My team and I were tasked with designing a Sharepoint microsite for the CXD (Customer Experience Design) team. I wanted to create a meaningful digital onboarding experience for our team members, introduce the CXD story and mission, and create a hub for important team resources.

Deliverables:

  • Sharepoint Microsite

  • Content Strategy

  • Site Information Architecture

  • Photography System

Tools:

  • Sketch

  • Adobe Illustrator

  • Adobe Lightroom

  • Sharepoint

The Challenge

Due to company policies, we were restricted to using the limiting Sharepoint platform and its out of the box solutions to create a personable and useful digital space for our team.

The Goal

My goal for the MVP was to solve for the biggest pain points that I uncovered from surveys and interviews.

Visual Approach

After my initial research, I began gathering inspiration to help guide the visual direction of the project. I wanted this site to feel professional, friendly, warm, energetic, and creative. I also wanted to utilize my photography experience in developing custom assets for the team to be able to use and scale.

Photography Approach

I really wanted to capture my team in an authentic way. Rather than take formal headshots of my team members, I decided to leverage and use our office space to capture everyone’s personality. These portraits really reflect the essence and the spirit of CXD.

The Outcome

I leveraged user research, team goals, and design inspiration to develop the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of the CXD Sharepoint site. The primary objective was to create a personalized digital experience not only for my team but for the entire enterprise, enabling effective communication and collaboration.

To achieve this, I carefully crafted each page of the CXD Sharepoint site, incorporating custom photography to visually depict and enhance the narrative of our team. This approach aimed to create a more engaging and immersive experience for users, enabling them to connect with our team's story on a deeper level.

While the MVP represents a significant milestone in the project, I recognize that it is an evolving solution. Moving forward, I will continue to gather feedback from team members and leadership to further refine and enhance the CXD Sharepoint site. By actively iterating and updating the site based on user input and emerging requirements, I aim to create an even more tailored and effective digital experience for the entire enterprise.
